The Carolina growing season extends well into fall. The days stay warm enough for summer produce to keep producing while cooling off just enough to bring back the cool weather crops. Sweet and hot peppers, okra, and eggplants make a final surge. Crisp kale and tender lettuces reappear. Root vegetables show up to give us something more hearty to look forward to. A sample of what can be found at the market now and in the next couple of weeks:
